1972 Becomes JNTU, Kakinada

Constituent College of JNTU Hyderabad.

1989 Launch of Computer Science

The Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch was introduced.

1996 Golden Jubilee

2003 UGC Autonomous Status and TEQIP Phase-I

Selected for the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) Phase-I.

2006 Diamond Jubilee

Commemorating 60 years of commitment to education.

2008 Becomes University College of Engineering Kakinada

Constituent College of JNTU Kakinada and launch of B.Tech Petroleum and Petro Chemical Engineering.

2012 TEQIP Phase-II

Further enhancement under TEQIP.
