The Oak Jubilee commemorates UCEK's 80-year journey, highlighting eight decades of unwavering dedication to excellence in education and innovation across all departments. This milestone will be celebrated through a year-long series of academic activities involving multiple departments and a wide range of participants — including esteemed faculty, accomplished alumni, prominent speakers, industry leaders, and distinguished guests. These celebrations will encompass various events and initiatives that honor our legacy, celebrate our achievements, and inspire the path ahead.

College of Engineering, Kakinada
(1946 - 1972)
The College of Engineering, Kakinada, which would later become part of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada, was established on July 16, 1946, in Kakinada, then part of the composite Madras state. Though originally intended for Visakhapatnam, it was temporarily located in Kakinada's abandoned military barracks due to fears of bombing during the Second World War. The institution was initially affiliated with Andhra University and commenced with 105 students across three branches: Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada
(1972 - 2008)
The College of Engineering Kakinada, founded in 1946, transitioned to JNTU College of Engineering, Kakinada, on October 2, 1972, as part of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad. It introduced Computer Science in 1989 and achieved University Autonomy in 2000. After celebrating its Golden (1996) and Diamond (2006) Jubilees, the World Bank recognized its excellence, providing substantial grants under TEQIP for development.

JNTU Kakinada (from 2008)
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) was established in 2008, emerging from the trifurcation of JNTU Hyderabad. An NAAC A+ grade (2023) university, JNTUK includes University College of Engineering Kakinada (UCEK) and University College of Engineering Narsaraopet, offering diverse UG/PG programs. UCEK, which celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in 2021, has NBA accreditation for all its engineering programs and is noted for strong industry collaborations. It is located on a 110-acre green campus in Kakinada, a city known for its cultural and educational heritage.
